Devil’s Den

Hello hello! This week I thought that I would write about somewhere that I would like to go, but haven’t been yet. Devil’s Den State Park is just south of Fayetteville in NW Arkansas and is supposed to be a fantastic spot for hiking and camping. I’ve heard great things from friends and seen amazing pictures but I’ve never been!

They have things for all kinds of different outdoor enthusiasts. They have campsites for people who enjoy the comfort and security of a paid spot with access to running water and bathrooms. They have tremendous day hiking options with fun trails that will give you access to breathtaking views of the Ozarks. And finally, they have longer hikes that offer more of a challenge for the adventure seeker.

I really don’t know how I’ve made it this long without ever visiting this little gem in NW Arkansas, but that’s going to have to change! It is absolutely on my to-do list for the summer, and I have pretty lofty expectations for what it has to offer, so I hope that it doesn’t disappoint!

  1. I’m biased because I live pretty close to Devil’s Den, but it’s still one of my favorite places to hike. If it’s really hot there’s a cave called the “ice box” that you can cool down in which is really cool, and the river runs right through DD.

  2. I just recently hiked Devil’s Den with my sister and the park was the busiest I’ve ever seen it!! You should definitely visit when you have a chance. HBO filmed a lot of the newest season of ‘True Detective’ there along with other places in NWA.
